Winter Storm

This week during the Independent Study and Mentorship program, I focused on doing what I could given the power outages. I worked on logging hours for my final product. I Ensured that I followed through on my calendar and continued to research for my final product. I also reviewed my original work speech again since checking it at two different times to be helpful and planned for this week to make corrections. I made a few corrections and started practicing more in the annunciation and memorization of certain parts of my speech. After watching it, I realized that there were some significant changes that I needed to do with it, such as keeping up audience engagement and putting in some more visuals. I hope to do this to make it more cohesive. I hope to make things more understandable for students/others with less knowledge of the subject while still making it in-depth for professionals in the field. Although this balance may be hard or difficult to obtain, I hope to ensure my speech is geared towards my target audience. This week's research included me researching more about the cell adhesion molecule 1 (CADM1), which regulates cell-cell adhesion, and an altered expression level is associated with tumorigenesis and progression. I have found a more recent article and plan to bridge it onto my next assessment as it goes more in-depth and is a more recent study on the Cell adhesion molecule CADM1. Since it does relate to adhesion, it can further bridge it into my final product, which I plan to have been a research paper about adhesion and E-Cadherins.
