The Physics behind Cancer

This week in the independent study and mentorship program, I remailed contacts I had ceased to hear a reply from. By doing this, I hope to remind them to reply. For my assessment this week, I was researching the physics behind cancer; I stumbled across an article with this equation and was fascinated but wanted to learn more and understand its complexities. I spoke to my physics teacher about it, and he gave me advice on who to contact further. I decided on getting a professor at Baylor University who studies adhesion and can most likely explain it to me. To understand this equation fully, though, I focused on the part of the equation that has to do with E-Cadherin levels and then plans to build through this in proceeding assessments. I found this to be so fascinating. I am thinking of incorporating it into my final projects to further my learning on this, though I will be contacting more professionals who are researching this. This week I will be focusing on finding a mentor and reaching people. I hope to further this research to deepen my understanding of this topic. I enjoyed what I researched this year and cannot wait to study it further.
